LANDLOCKED | Welcome to the Arctic Circle

66° 33′ 55″. The Arctic Circle. Having spent a week in the car and driving it to the North to cross that magic boarder our two fellows finally made it! Two normal guys from Berlin crossed the Arctic Circle in a summer camper van in winter. First mission accomplished.

The streets were getting easier. They drove to Bodø and picked up Mario Rodwald. The european kite surf champion, who joined their road trip. Within 30 minutes they decided to head over to Lofoten. Booked a ferry and off they went to the next adventure: Surfing the Arctic Ocean. Further North!

Jeckybeng is part of an urban outdoor movement – a movement of inspired urbanites who see the world from a different perspective and are not afraid to question their everyday life. They try to figure out the elemental question as to why our modern society always seems to have to compete with nature instead of striving to achieve harmony. With our interviews, stories, pictures and products, we at Jeckybeng are addressing all of you who are searching for deceleration, sustainability and balance – those who want to rediscover nature. The plan: We - as two very ordinary, landlocked surfers - want to go on an adventure road trip to the Arctic Circle in winter. The only remaining European wilderness in Europe.

It was just the most beautiful thing they have ever seen. Norway’s mountains were already stunning, but Lofoten were just super stoke. They kept on getting in and out shooting and it seems like a never ending eye candy show. The weather changed every ten minutes. From storm and hard wind to snow to rain … like the whole range of what nature has to offer. Any weather condition produces different lights. They were simply speechless.
